Your Family and Cosmetic Dentist in Middletown, OH

Ohio native Dr. Lang has been practicing family and cosmetic dentistry in Middletown since 2009. A graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Dr. Lang served in the United States Air Force before establishing his private practice. Dr. Lang is proud to serve his community as a family dentist and is known for crafting personal, useful, and transformative family and cosmetic dentistry treatments.

Here’s what he has to say about his story, his approach to dentistry, and the life he loves in Middletown, Ohio.

On Becoming a Dentist

I was lucky to discover that I wanted to practice medicine at a young age. I worked at a veterinary office in high school and really enjoyed helping others in a medical environment. Though becoming a veterinarian wasn’t quite the right fit for me, I was inspired to explore other medical professions and soon discovered that dentistry was for me after a few weeks observing my dentist in action. So if your child is showing interest in dentistry or medicine, one of the best suggestions I have is to have a hands-on exploration of the possibilities and embrace the rewards of pursuing one’s passion professionally.

On a different note, it humors me that I still became a vet—just of the United States Air Force instead of for animal patients. After I graduated from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, I joined the Air Force and had the privilege of serving at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton and Patrick Air Force Base in Brevard County, Florida.

From the Air Force to private practice, I have had the honor of helping patients enjoy better overall health through healthier smiles and even changing lives by giving patients their smiles back. I wouldn’t change a thing.

On Approaching Dentistry

Dentistry has changed a lot since I first began in 1989—and I’d say for the better. Combined with a growing body of clinical research, dental technology has continued to improve both the dentist and patient experience. Now more than ever, dentists are able to precisely diagnose and treat dental issues in their earliest stages, often with treatments that are less invasive and more convenient than their predecessors. For patients, this often translates to greater comfort, long-lasting results, and fewer dental visits.

Along with implementing modern technology and techniques, I take my biggest lesson from truly listening to the countless patients I’ve met over the last 30 years. Every patient has a unique history and deserves to be seen, heard, and treated as an individual. In fact, I’d say getting to know my patients is one of the most essential ingredients for designing a successful treatment plan.

As a dentist, my goal is to establish routine preventive care for the entire family, address current issues, and take proactive steps that support a healthy, beautiful smile that lasts a lifetime.

In short, I approach dentistry with two of my favorite ingredients: compassion and common sense.
